Robot Marries Japanese Couple

How cool would it be to have Mr. Data (yes, we just outed ourselves as Trekkies) perform a wedding?  While that's a long way off, one couple in Japan came close by recently being married by a robot priest!

The bride, Inoue, works for the same company that created the i-Fairy, a robot that generally works as a museum guide.  Shibata, her husband, was a client of Kokoro Ltd., the company that employs Inoue.  "It's true that robots are what caused us to first begin going out, and as suggested by my wife, we decided that we wanted to try this sort of wedding," Shibata said. 

The i-Fairy robot, after a software upgrade, presided flawlessly over the wedding.  Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto...
